Fall will quickly turn to winter, and to me, Winter + Romance = Fireplaces.

I just saw a quick show on Travel Channel highlighting the best hotel fireplaces so I just HAD to pass it on.  The great thing about California is the outdoor fire pit which makes any night seem romantic.  For a total release from the pressures of the city, another favorite is in the bar at the Gramercy Park Hotel — it fights back the cold of even the harshest Manhattan winds.
